Soul Fire Records, started in 1999 by Phillip Lehman, produced some of the funkiest modern recordings to ever make it to 45. Many of the 45s from the Soul Fire catalog are nearly impossible to nd today. If and when they do come up for sale they fetch top dollar. "I started to produce super rough sounding recordings in what I believed was a traditional, hard-hitting, and uncompromising sound... with a mission to produce music in the sacred vein of traditional underground funk. Soul Fire was a label dedicated to the pursuit of funk in the pure tradition... Soul Fire closed it's doors in 2003 when Phillip stepped away from the music business to pursue other ventures. He left the studio to Je Silverman & Leon Michel's who then started what today is known as Truth & Soul Records. This box set contains some of the rarest sides sides from the Soul Fire catalog across eight 7 inches, with liner notes from Phillip himself and a Soul Fire sticker all packaged in a woven silk-screened collectors box in a limited pressing just for this year's Black Friday Record Store Day.
